CSSA Statement Regarding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) Program

September 05, 2017

The Cal State Student Association (CSSA) stands with all California State University (CSU) students and people across the country affected by the Trump Administration’s terrible action to rescind DACA. CSSA will fight for legislative solutions to not only protect the currently 800,000 people in the DACA program (220,000 of them California residents), but to promote human dignity and protect the very core ideals of the program – that children and youth wishing to live honest, hardworking, and law-abiding lives here in America should not be punished.

The time for Congress to act on this issue is now. We call on Congressional leadership to work on a speedy resolution to this issue, so that the 800,000 students, professionals, and community members enrolled in DACA do not have to live their lives in uncertainty and fear.
